Plot
Two young police academy recruits witness a kidnapping on one of their nights out and report it to the police, but they are too busy trying to find the son of a major politician and refuse to help. As is expected, they decide to take things into their own hands and go after the kidnappers, only to discover something more heinous going on and they find themselves in over their heads. There are a few minor holes in the story but it doesn't take away from the fun of the movie. I really feel like action and comedy is Seo Joon's element and it showed here, his acting was really authentic and he was a pleasure to watch. This was my first time watching Kang Ha Neul and he played his character really well and his chemistry with Seo Joon was perfect (I definitely preferred it to the Seo Joon and Hyung Sik pairing in Hwarang).
My Feelings
In case the 5 stars didn't give it away, I loved this movie! I'm a big action movie fan but I haven't really seen any action K dramas or movies, I only watched this because of my ever growing love for Park Seo Joon. The story line isn't a new one but it was done very nicely, the guys didn't take themselves seriously and acted out of basic human compassion. When they were told to follow the rules and wait, I found myself getting angry along with them and wanting to give the cop in that scene a nice hard smack...what I mean is their acting was so good that one could almost feel their frustration through the screen. Anyway, this movie wasn't loaded with time wasters or unnecessary scenes, they put in just enough to get their points across and that worked for me. This movie also had me laughing out loud at the 2 leads antics and their friendship was super fun to watch.
Conclusion
I absolutely enjoyed this movie! I would recommend it to anyone that enjoys action and/or comedy, even to those that don't...plus seeing Park Seo Joon in full uniform wasn't too bad either 😉
